Leadership & Positive Thinking One-Day Camp

Following an invitation from the school principal, Deepajala Samaja Kendraya organized this comprehensive one-day camp for the newly elected student leaders of Gemunu Maha Vidyalaya. The program featured expert sessions by University Lecturers and community leaders to inspire the next generation. The workshop was carefully structured to move beyond traditional leadership theory, incorporating hands-on entrepreneurial challenges and interactive sessions on positive thinking. Under the guidance of Mr. Kalana Gayantha from the Open University, students explored creative problem-solving techniques and developed mental resilience strategies to help them navigate their new responsibilities as school prefects. The success of the day was further bolstered by the active participation of regional authorities, including the OIC of the Hidogama Police Division and Public Health Inspector Mr. Isuru. Their presence provided the students with unique insights into civic duty, public safety, and community health, while Mr. Theekshana from the Scout Movement facilitated teamwork exercises that focused on discipline and collective action for a better future.
